Judgment

Return. Success. Going out and coming in without error. Friends come without blame. To and fro goes the way. On the seventh day comes return. It furthers one to have somewhere to go.

Hexagram 24, Return, embodies the profound metaphysical truth of cyclical renewal, marking the precise moment when the light of consciousness re-emerges from the depths of the unconscious. It signifies the turning point where the pendulum of existence swings back from the extremes of decline. The judgment assures us that this return is inherently prosperous; movement during this phase is organic and unobstructed, free from the friction of stagnation or "illness."

The imagery of "friends coming" illustrates the law of resonance: when one aligns with the emerging truth, community naturally forms without conflict. The "seven days" represents the completeness of a cycle, teaching that patience is the guardian of growth. Nothing is lost; all that has receded returns in a new form. Thus, it is advantageous to venture forth, for the energy of the cosmos supports the re-establishment of order. This hexagram invites us to view progress not as a straight line, but as a spiral ascent where we advance by constantly returning to our source, wiser and more authentic than before.
